Terms of Service

Thank you for taking the time to read our guidelines. This page will hopefully answer many of the questions you may have regarding our commission services.

Purchasing Models

We are capable of purchasing the models for you. Being that we get the same prices as you do, it would be easiest for you to simply place the order yourself and have them delivered to our workshop, listed below:

If you would like us to actually order the models, please note that in your request for a quote and we will be sure to add that into the cost of services.

NOTE - 100% of model costs are due before the start of a project. Please do not have models delivered to our workshop without first notifying us to expect delivery. We are not responsible for lost models on their way to us.

Before Starting

Before beginning your project, we require a 50% downpayment for services performed which will be listed in your quote. Not only does this ensure a commitment from our customers, but it also allows more flexibility in purchasing any needed materials for conversions, etc. before the start of your project.

If you have purchased the models yourself, or are otherwise shipping them to us, please send them at least a week before the scheduled start of the project to ensure ample time to get the models to us.

During the Project

During your project, you can expect regular updates emailed to you along with photographs documenting our progess. Not only does this allow you to see how your project is coming along, but you are also able to offer any changes you may want to make before the we are completed.

This is really the most exciting part of the entire process. Getting to see your models or terrain taking shape is fun, not only for you, but for the artists as well!

Once Finished

Once your project is complete, you will be notified by email including final photos for approval. It is at this time that you can make any final requests or alterations. When you are satisfied with our work, payment of the remainder of your balance will be required before we can ship your models back to you.

If you are not 100% satisfied with our work, refunds may be offered on a case-by-case basis. 

Unclaimed Models: Models that have not been paid for within four weeks of project completion (without prior arrangements) will be forfeited to Crystal Cog Studios along with any previously paid funds. You are agreeing to this arrangement when you agree to use our service. While we certainly hope that this is never the case, we are also running a business, and as such we must cover our costs in materials and labor.

We accept payment through Paypal, personal check, or money order.

NOTE: If shipping payment with your order, please be sure to place it in a clearly marked envelope to avoid being missed.

Shipping

All items will be shipped via USPS flat rate shipping and rates will be calculated at usps.com.

As a reference, approximate prices for inside the Continental US/Canada vary between $9-$15 depending on size/weight.

Insurance is optional and can be added to cover your package (and is recommended), just mention your desire for it in your initial request for quote. Crystal Cog Studios is not responsible for lost or broken items due to shipping/handling once it is out of our workshop. (If you receive your item in a less than perfect, please contact us and we will be happy to repair it for you free of charge, provided you cover shipping costs!)

It is preferred that you do not ship the items to our workshop in an army transport (though foam trays are fine) since this does not offer the best protection. If you wish to do so anyways, please note that this will add slightly to shipping costs due to added weight.

Clients outside the US are advised to find out the rates for import taxes before ordering as Crystal Cog Studios will not cover these costs.
